Holiday Inn Express San Diego South-National City by IHG

One of the few hotels I've stayed at where every employee was very friendly and kind. From the questions I had when booking, checking in, help with restocking items, answering questions about the area.. best experience. Only negative was how small the bathroom area was... The actual room was massive and I didn't feel like the bathroom area was proportional..but that wasn't a huge deal. 2 people definitely can't be in the area at the same time though. We stayed a week and both my husband and I had no complaints!

Centric Hotel offers a comfortable stay with a wide range of amenities, including an in-room safe, coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, and cable TV. WE enjoyed newly updated appliances throughout the property, complimentary breakfast, and free parking. The hotel is conveniently located close to numerous restaurants and popular local attractions, making it an ideal spot for both leisure and business travelers. Shout out to Jessica's wonderful team Mario,Vanessa,Liz and Efrain! If you want it more punchy, more formal, or more casual, just say the word!

Wonderful two night stay. Staff was amazing . . . friendly, professional, going above and beyond. Had the pleasure of dealing mostly with Mariano who checked me in and told me a couple of priceless bad/dad jokes in the process. Even fixed the TV connection in my room. That man did it all. Rooms and facilities were nice and clean. Thoughtfully furnished and not sterile. Plenty of amenities. High recommended. If I'm visiting friends in National City, I'm definitely staying there again.

This was close to the San Diego Zoo. Nice, clean and the staff were very very nice. In particular the night Manager, Johnathan. I could not sleep one night, I went down to the lobby and he was super friendly and we chatted in between customers. It was quiet that night. He was, by far, the best part of the hotel. He is the reason I would go back to the hotel.

We had a nice visit to San Diego. Check in was easy. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. There was a microwave and mini-ref. Only downside there were no complimentary bottled waters. Hot breakfast was included and they had a good selection. Wasn’t a fan of the filtered water. So I opted for coffee. Parking is free. Checkout was also a breeze.

Fantastic hotel centrally located by the highway surrounded by many plazas with great restaurants, shops, markets, etc. The hotel itself is remodeled, spacious, exceptionally clean, and had good amenities with plenty of parking/security cameras, outdoor pool, gym, and lounge/seating areas which made it convenient for work - not to mention the freshly ground coffee machine and filtered water that was available 24/7. It was very convenient to have a Keurig coffee machine, microwave and refrigerator inside the room, along with environmentally friendly setup for toiletries (additional items were also available upon request at the front desk). The breakfast station was great with rotating hot items everyday, and was always kept stocked and clean (great cinnamon buns, omelets, sausages, biscuits+gravy, and staple grab & go items.) The entire team was exceptionally friendly, kind, and welcoming - it was an endearing experience to come across such happy and warm personalities no matter who you came across working.

we love our stay here! stayed for 5 days to visit San diego. Easy drive to downtown etc. Our room is always fresh and clean everyday! Breakfast was good, we love the pancake machine maker Outdoor pool is very clean.

Overall a good experience. The rooms looked modern and upgraded, even the paint lines at the baseboard were flush compared to other budget hotels I've stayed at. They had a rotating mix of hot breakfast items each day I was here which was nice. They have a variety of snacks and drinks you can purchase in the lobby, though getting the attention of staff was sometimes a little difficult. I did end up having to do laundry here which you can pay for with a mobile app. The location is great and right off the 805 about 4-8 miles from everything I needed to do. If they had a pool or hottub I didn't use them so my review does not factor that. Most of my complaints are about the noise. The neighbors behind the hotel would play music until around midnight, though it wasn't too loud on the fourth floor where my room was. The mini fridge was noticeably noisy but again not too loud. The main noise came from the hallway, the doors lacked a proper seal especially towards the bottom so light and sound came in. Additionally on my second day here I came back around 4:30 PM to find my room made up nicely by housekeeping, about 15 minutes later someone from housekeeping tried entering my room without knocking, I had the physical lock on so she couldn't enter, but I wonder why she needed to when the room was already made up for the day. Overall I think the value was worth the stay and I would stay here again if I came to the San Diego area.
